Dim Sum Curry
Hi everyone, welcome back to my kitchen jungle. I opened a restaurant in Yangon, Myanmar named “HARVEST MOON” and we also Dim sum and other foods. At the time of covid period, I have to close our restaurant and there were a lot of Dim sum left and we steamed every day. So my father said to me “Is there any way to eat Dim sum than steamed it like curry or fried. If you cook as a main dish, we can reduce the food cost and it may be more delicious.” So, I cooked Dim sum with tomato paste as a curry and sometimes I fried Dim sum like crispy deep fried, pan fried.
Today, I am going to make Dim sum curry that is cooked like a Myanmar style curry dish. Let’s make it…………….
Ingredients
10 Dim Sum (Any kinds of dim sum you like)
3 Onion
1 Garlic
1 Inches Ginger
4 Tomato
Light Soy Sauce 1Tbsp
Dashi Seaweed Powder 1Tbsp
Fish sauce 1Tbsp
Chili Powder 1Tbsp
Oil 4Tbsp
Oil For Fried ( A lot)
Salt A little
3,4 Green and Red Chilli
Coriander A little
Instructions
1. Fried all Dim sum until it turns to golden brown colour and crispy. Set aside all fried Dim sum. Minced (or) pounded garlic, onion and ginger in the mortar. And also minced the tomato.
2. Put the pan over the stove and add 4Tbsp of vegetable oil. Fried pounded garlic, onion and ginger and if it changes colour and smells good, add minced tomato, salt, Dashi powder, fish sauce and light soy sauce. If you get the taste that you want, add crispy fried Dim sum. Finally, add chilli and Coriander and cover a few minutes. If you want more spicy, you can add minced chilli.
3. If you don’t want this dish oily, you can add a little bit of water and cook. If you want to eat like a curry dish, you can fry diced tomato, onion, carrot, pepper and crispy Dim sum.
