STREET FOOD THAT YOU SHOULD EAT IN MYANMAR (BURMA)
Myanmar (Burmese) street food. I would like to know what kind of street food do you eat in your country.
Hi everyone!! Welcome back to my kitchen jungle….
Today I would like to introduced with Myanmar (Burmese) street food that I ate for breakfast. These are Shan noodle, two kinds of Burmese pancake (Bane Mote and Mote Pyar Thatlet) and Dosa (or) Mote Yae Par. All of Burmese street food are so delicious with low cost. Made sure to eat these street food when you visit to Myanmar.
SHAN NOODLE
Shan noodle (Shan Kauk Swae) is one of the best and favourite noodle that orginated from Shan state. Both the broth and dry noodles are covered with chicken or pork, tomato curry paste and tossed in chilli sauce. Shan noodle are also served with pickled mustard green (mon nyin chin). You can also choose different kinds of noodle likes sticky noodle and flat noodle. I enjoy this Shan noodle for breakfast but it absolutely can also be had at all times of the day.
BURMESE PANCAKE
The white one is original and it’s topping with peas, coriander leaves and roasted sesame. I love to eat the original white one the most. My mom brought 4 pieces for one person for breakfast. Nowaday, Burmese people created with the white pancake, they add fried potato chips, egg, tomato, chilli and other vegetable that you like. We also Burmese pizza because we add ingredients that we want to eat. In Yangon, people eat pancake sprinkle with salt and sesame but at upper Myanmar, people eat with peanut oil, salt and sesame seed dipping sauce. Our family also eat pancake with dipping sauce.
The last one is dosa or Mote Yae Par or Toa Shay and this is kinds of crispy and thin pancake. You can eat fresh because it is cook immediately when you order. It is originated from India and a lot of Myanmar are love to eat for breakfast. You can eat the original one with special sauce and you can also choose dosa with jiggery sauce, dosa with pea, spring onion and roasted sesame, and special dosa with egg, bean powder and roasted sesame.
Another kind of dosa wapped with cabbage, chickpeas, chilli, carrot mix with indian curry powder is called “Gangster Dosa (Lan Thaye Mote)”.
This is my breakfast today and I would like to know what kind of food do you eat for breakfast in your country.
